BioShock 'Review'

Typographic Journey
Revisiting the Epic World of BioShock , Eyeball Inserts Reviews Into the Dark, Textural World.

NEW YORK August, 2007 - Director Limore Shur revisited the image spot Bioshock at the request of the agency RDA in order to highlight the vast amount of praise the videogame was recieving.

Having the assets from the full :60 image spot, Eyeball re-animated the characters to support the new compositions that needed to make the "reviews" the hero . "Each scene was built around the idea that the reviews would appear within the Bioshock environment." Says Shur. "We chose to build the reviews as marquees designed to feel like French Nuveau signage from the classic auto shows. The marquees were built in 3d and we played with scale in order to make each composition feel both vast and claustrophobic. Each scene was created using minimal 3d and we focused more on creating matte paintings and vfx to fill out each scene. We did reuse a few scenes from the original spot to focus somewhat on game play. All of the imagery and effects were original and created for this spot."
