It's Always Time for A Remix!
Eyeball Develops a Design-Template System For Comedy Central's Continual On-Air Exploration.




NEW YORK - For several years in a row, design company Eyeball has played a large role in branding the look of Comedy Central. From promos to station id's to specific show packages, Eyeball has helped create the look and feel of the comedic giant.

When Eyeball was approached to experiment with evolving the new on-air look, they jumped at the chance to take a stab at what Comedy Central's Creative Director Kendrick was calling "Exploration".

"Tatiana Arocha and I looked into many systems that would translate well as backdrops for typography. We wanted to create dynamic settings for the broadcast supers yet have them feel very natural to the station." says Art Director Neil Stuber. In the end they developed several directions that worked well for the network; physical/textural backdrops, graphic backdrops, & patterned backgrounds.

"The delivery required us to present Comedy Central with design templates and After Effects projects that could be updated based on specific shows. We also spent time developing show character treatments and overall color variations that they could flip through easily. It was an experimental brand guide and a library of assets that they could grow into and eventually expand upon." adds Neil.

It is obvious that over-the-years Eyeball has developed a strong understanding of Comedy Central's design needs. Once again, they have delivered a dynamic on-brand package.
