Friday Night in The City
Eyeball Generates a Gritty yet Flashy Introduction to Comedy Central's Friday Night Lineup.
NEW YORK - Building upon their well-received work for Comedy Central, design-based production company Eyeball and music company Expansion Team have continued to make an impact on the network, creating a new package for Friday Night Standup.
Eyeball went about creating a brightly-lit cityscape as the set for the show open and package elements. Actors & extras were cast from within the Eyeball ranks and were shot on a green-screen on the insert stage at eyeball's Soho studio office.
Designers took cameras out into the city to capture images and textural elements that were modified and collaged to create the cityscape. Light trails were inserted into the scenes as a point of energy to tie the package together and link the overall design to the graffiti inspired direction that carries through the majority of Comedy Central's on-air promotions.
"We've always enjoyed working with Comedy Central. This project was no exception." says Art Director Neil Stuber. "Design/Animators Danny Khumaji, Asif Mian, and I had a blast creating vignettes and hiding fun characters throughout the package. Look for the return of the dancing potato!"
When the designers at Eyeball are having this much fun, how could the end product be anything but successful?
