A Hot New Direction For the iHome Brand.
NEW YORK July, 2007 - iHome has been successful at developing products that work well with Apple's iPod. Their Agency RDA approached Eyeball about taking the brand to a place where it too fused well with the Apple iPod branding. Needless to say, we had some ideas about how to spice up their look and dynamically link the two products with an explosion of bold graphics.
The new iHome product 'iH80' is a portable boom box with a docking station for any size iPod. It's portability opens up the possibilty of an anywhere-party. Eyeball ran with this concept. "Hyejin and I discussed creating negative space out of the positive outline of the speakers' past. It became a trail or a graphic timeline leading the viewer through the spot and adding interest that worked well with a poppy song." comments Art Director Neil Stuber.
Neil Adds "We've seen countless spots where the hero product is moving through a void and spinning to highlight certain features of it's design or function. iHome, being linked to music naturally allowed us to create a dance of sorts that didn't feel gimmicky. It's a fun and energetic spot."
